The Biorefinery of the Future is an initiative and a meeting place focusing on getting more from the forest.
The Biorefinery of the Future involves companies, public functions and universities in the Örnsköldsvik and Umeå region. Together, we run processes and projects that focus on addressing the present energy and climate challenges by using raw materials from forests and energy crops.
There are many potential fields of application for the forest: biofuel, motor fuel, pharmaceuticals, textiles, food, paints, solvents… Visionary? Maybe. Feasible? Absolutely!
For the Biorefinery of the Future, environmental and climate friendliness is not just a goal – it is a working method. Our focus on sustainable development lays the foundation for long term regional and national growth.
